Fedora, Debian and the ever famous Ubuntu are just a few variants of the open source operating system Linux, one of the operating systems in which I have interests with since I am one of those operating system fanatics though I also like doing my experiments with Mac and Windows once in a while. And in addition to these that I have mentioned, there is also another type of operating system that is not that common and usually found only in mainframes, dedicated servers, and computers that require heavy computing and data analysis, and this type is called the Unix; and this Unix operating system is really one of the first operating systems in history and it was even used with military operations during the world wars and the computers that these were installed in were quite large to be frank, as large as a room even. However, a brilliant student in the name of Linus Torvalds was not very happy with his desktop operating system but admired Unix very much, he wrote his own code and got some libraries making an operating system that is close to Unix but can be run on the desktop, thus the birth of Linux. Linux is an open source operating system that is distributed by different distributors thus making it their different flavors; it is also made for development and research for those who are fanatics of operating systems as well since you can manipulate it whenever you want it, just some lines and script on the terminal and you can change your kernel whenever you want to. The operating system developed by the growing company, Apple, has developed a more or less the same version of a Unix based system, one can run a lot of things in the mac terminal server; however, one cannot manipulate or change the kernel of the operating system since it is not open source. Having quite a vast experience with the operating systems I have above mentioned, I think that if you are just a simple user, you should go for Windows; and if you want one that is stable and with freebies, go for the Mac; but if you are the geeky type, the Linux operating system would really suit your needs, no questions asked.
The goal of so many and the end-in-view of most of us hardworking people, which will validate all the hard work and the ambitions we have for ourselves and for our family. One fine day, I heard my mother screaming and I saw this unknown man enter our rv; I tried to run away and hide because I was so scared, but I could not move any part of my body. I could only hold my breath as I waited my dad to take the man’s gun away from him; they both wrestled on the floor and I just waited at what would happen next. Before I fainted because of fear, I could see and hear two cast bullets dropping on the ground, after that, I lost all senses completely. When I regained consciousness, I saw the sun shining brightly and I was on my bed; I stood up and looked over the window and saw my parents happy in our garden and enjoying a hearty meal. Yes, you guessed it right, it was all a stupid nightmare; I still cried after realizing that, but this time, I cried out of gratitude that everything was well. I realized that I had to make the most of the time that I still have with my parents; I will make them happier everyday. That is what I realized after that scary dream; even nightmares give us lessons that can make us better in our relationships with those whom we love and value in life.
